Call to artists and more!

Calling all buskers!

Are you a street performer, street musician, minstrel, or troubadour? Would you like to show your talent to the world, but don’t know how to get started? Try a small town audience, it offers you a great start, and the experience of performing in public. It is our desire to provide space to performing artists who wish to show their talent either as a onetime gig or ongoing, regardless of your skills (amateur or professional buskers).

Who are we? The APPLS/SCA group creates events for artists who have a desire to progress their skills and talent to a wide range of audiences. Our events give all artists the opportunity to show the general public how wonderful life is when the arts are involved.

We have a lot of upcoming arts centered events and would like to invite performing artists who wish to entertain. For a limited time performing artists may participate, in our outdoor art events, free*. Participation includes multiple promotions, collaboration with a large arts group, the experience of performing, understanding how to accept tips/gratuity, how to schedule shows, forming great connections, freeing you from the tedious job of looking for locations to perform.

Performers may do acrobatics, animal tricks, balloon twisting, card tricks, caricatures, clowning, comedy, contortions and escapes, dancing, singing, fire eating, fire breathing (depending on location), juggling, magic, mime and a mime variation where the artist performs as a living statue, musical performance, puppeteering, storytelling or recite poetry or prose as a bard, street theatre, sword swallowing, and even put on a flea circus.

To apply: send an email to art@artinlexington.com include name & nom-de-plume, phone number, email, and a brief description of your work, restrictions, space required, etc.

*FREE? Buskers are not charged a fee to participate as long as they are only providing entertainment and passing out self promotions. In return APPLS provides signage & promotion.
